Hydraulics Full Job Description Brief Description:
The Assistant Pool Manager supports the Pool Division Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the company's pool construction, renovation, equipment installation, repair, and maintenance services. This position serves as a technical leader for field personnel while helping coordinate projects from initial scheduling through completion. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of pool systems, equipment, plumbing, and water chemistry, along with the leadership skills to ensure daily tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Assistant Pool Manager acts as the Pool Manager in their absence and works closely with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service.
Primary tasks:
Assist in managing the daily operations of the Pool Division, including new pool installations, remodels, equipment upgrades, repairs, and routine maintenance.
Coordinate with the manager:
project schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity. Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and according to company quality standards. Perform site visits to inspect work quality, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to field crews. Serve as a technical resource for technicians and installers on all pool-related systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and operational issues. Ensure proper equipment startup, testing, programming, and customer orientation. Assist in managing recurring pool cleaning and preventative maintenance programs. Monitor water chemistry standards and ensure technicians follow proper balancing procedures. Supervise, train, mentor, and support pool technicians, installers, and maintenance personnel. Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, property managers, and commercial clients. Address customer questions and resolve issues quickly and effectively. Maintain accurate project documentation, service records, and equipment warranties.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in pool construction, equipment installation, service, or repair. 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding work. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
Strong understanding of:
Pool hydraulic systems Plumbing and circulation systems Pumps, filters, heaters, and automation systems Electrical components related to pool equipment Water chemistry and chemical treatment Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crawl, climb ladders, etc. Willingness to work on call as needed.
