Up to $20.00/hour based on experience Who We Are For more than two decades, Kids World has been where Oak Park families go for birthdays, rainy days, and Friday nights. Our 15,000 square foot facility houses a multi-level indoor playground, a full arcade, dedicated party suites, and a restaurant on site. When the last family heads home, one person makes sure the place is spotless, locked up tight, and set to open again in the morning. We're looking for that person. The Opportunity We need an Evening Supervisor who can command the floor during our busiest hours and then own the entire closing process from announcement to alarm. Once the general manager leaves for the day, you're in charge — coordinating the crew, resolving guest situations, balancing the drawers, and securing the building.

Fair warning:

this is a working supervisor position. Expect to be up on the play structure, wiping down arcade cabinets, and flipping party rooms shoulder-to-shoulder with your team. Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesRunning the Floor Act as manager on duty and final authority on site during evening hours Deploy staff across admissions, play area, arcade, and party rooms; rebalance coverage as traffic changes Provide real-time direction and correction on hospitality, safety, and speed of service De-escalate guest concerns, process refunds and comps, and document incidents thoroughly Uphold play area rules — sock policy, height and age limits, and occupancy caps File an end-of-shift log covering staffing, incidents, repairs needed, and handoff notes for the opening team Owning the Close Deliver last-call announcements and clear the floor on schedule Perform a full sweep — structure, tubes, slides, ball pit, restrooms, party suites, VIP room, arcade, and entry — verifying no child or guest remains in the building Log and store lost-and-found Shut down and lock arcade cabinets, prize counter, display cases, and play equipment Verify every station on the closing checklist is signed off before staff clock out Set the alarm, secure all entrances and gates, and confirm lockup before departure Own the responsibility of being the final person out each night Money Handling & Nightly Balancing Oversee every point of sale — front counter, arcade card kiosks, and prize redemption — for the duration of the shift Close out drawers, match cash and credit totals to POS and Intercard reporting, and record any variance Build and secure the nightly deposit; set up starting banks for the next business day Balance arcade card loads, gameplay, and prize/ticket inventory against system data Escalate any discrepancy the same night — we expect total transparency here Collect remaining party balances and finalize event paperwork Facility Standards & Cleaning Set the pace on the closing clean and work the list yourself alongside the crew Disinfect play equipment, ball pit, climbers, slides, and frequently touched surfaces Service and restock restrooms Break down, sanitize, and re-stage party suites and the VIP room for the following day's bookings Detail arcade machines and screens, tidy the redemption counter, and replenish prize stock Sweep, vacuum, and mop the lobby, party rooms, and shared spaces Handle trash and recycling removal and cardboard breakdown Reset the front counter, wristband station, cubbies, and seating Flag malfunctioning games, damaged equipment, lighting issues, and repair needs to ownership The Nom Nom Restaurant kitchen is closed by kitchen personnel — kitchen shutdown is not part of this role. Dining and seating area cleanup is.

What You Bring Must Have Minimum age 18 At least one year leading a shift, supervising, or holding keys (retail, food service, entertainment, or recreation) Demonstrated experience counting drawers and balancing registers Genuine evening, weekend, and holiday availability — the building closes when you close it Dependability above all else. The doors stay unlocked until you're there to lock them.
