Description:
The Wanderers Club is a casual, multi-generational private golf and country club in the heart of the equestrian community of Wellington, Florida. The Club's full array of amenities and services are centered around families, sports and the equestrian lifestyle found only in Wellington. We serve a vibrant community of families in areas ranging from golf, racquet, swimming, events and dining to childcare and camps. The Lead Counselor supports member children in the Game Room and Tuskers Kids Club, helping ensure each shift is safe, engaging and well organized. Reporting to the Tuskers Supervisor, this role leads day-to-day programming and supervises 1-5 Kids Club Attendants during weekday evening and all-day weekend shifts. The schedule varies from 28 to 40 hours per week.
Requirements:
Supervise counselors and provide coaching, training, and performance feedback. Coordinate daily Tuskers operations, including staff schedules, coverage, and appropriate staff-to-child ratios. Plan and lead creative recreational activities, seasonal events, holiday programs, and family-focused experiences for children of various ages. Maintain safe, clean, organized program areas and ensure compliance with Club health and safety policies. Build positive member relationships, respond professionally to questions and concerns, and deliver exceptional service. Collaborate with Club leadership and other departments to execute events and daily operations smoothly. Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, accidents, behavioral issues, and parent concerns; complete required documentation promptly and accurately. Manage activity supplies and inventory, including setup, breakdown, and organization of equipment and program spaces. Support the Tuskers Supervisor with daily operational needs and department priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in education, recreation, child development, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children in a camp, childcare, recreation, school, or hospitality setting. Leadership or supervisory experience preferred. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, or willingness to obtain certification. Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to lead age-appropriate activities and remain calm, professional, and positive in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, creative, detail-oriented, and committed to teamwork and hospitable service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & SCHEDULE
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and actively participate in games and activities. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal events as needed.
