Event Manager

Job Description

Job Summary The Event Manager coordinates, supervises, and leads the execution of all aspects of FOH catering to ensure that client requirements and specifications are met and that events run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. The Event Manager provides leadership to Catering & Events' front-of-house team members, including banquet captains, lead servers, servers, bartenders, coat check attendants, parking attendants, security guards, AV technicians, and occasional temporary staff. Key Responsibilities Event Management & Leadership Lead and supervise FOH staff during events to ensure smooth, high-quality service. Assign tasks, provide direction, and motivate team members throughout the event. Oversee the execution of all event FOH operations. Act as the primary on-site liaison between event coordinators, kitchen staff, vendors, and the service team. Monitor team performance and provide recognition, positive reinforcement, coaching, and discipline as needed. Assist with new team member training and onboarding. Facilitate conflict resolution between team members. Ensure team members understand and follow company policies, procedures, and service standards. Attend weekly production meetings and participate in ongoing event planning and operational communication. Event Setup, Service & Breakdown Oversee event setup, service flow, and breakdown to ensure timelines, layouts, and standards are met. Ensure each event has the appropriate lighting, floor plan, equipment, and layout based on client specifications and event needs. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of all event areas before, during, and after service. Monitor the team during breakdown and reset to ensure event spaces are returned to company standards and are ready for future events or client tours. Ensure event closing procedures are completed and the venue is properly secured. Step in and assist with setup or service when the team falls behind or additional support is needed. Hospitality & Guest Experience Welcome clients, vendors, and guests and create a warm, professional, and hospitable first impression. Serve as a visible management presence throughout events. Periodically check in with clients to anticipate and address their needs. Deliver exceptional guest service and address guest concerns promptly and professionally. Introduce yourself to the client and salesperson when appropriate. Ensure all service aligns with Domenico Catering & Events standards and client expectations. Food, Beverage & Event Operations Monitor the quality of food products and service provided throughout events. Monitor inventory levels and inform management of low stock levels. Monitor the proper handling and organization of food, beverages, glassware, and equipment. Review and approve team members' logged hours and breaks following events. Remind team members, guests, and vendors of applicable company policies. Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Strong leadership and team-management skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced event environment. Technical proficiency and ability to learn and utilize event-related systems and technology. Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in and support the team when needed. Strong knowledge of food, beverage, hospitality, and front-of-house service. At least four years of front-of-house restaurant experience and/or banquet/event experience. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and effectively prioritize competing needs during live events. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on event needs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to 8-11 hours per day. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Compensation:

$32-$37/hour
