ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Catering & Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operations of two growing culinary businesses . You'll work closely with the owner and Executive Chef to help keep catering events, meal delivery, client communication, scheduling, logistics, and administrative details organized and moving forward. You need to be equally comfortable behind a computer managing details and out in the field doing whatever needs to get done, whether that means running errands, meeting vendors, showing up onsite, loading supplies, or taking out the trash. This is a part-time role averaging approximately 30 hours per week . Because our business is event-driven, the schedule will vary. Some weeks may include a couple of 10-hour event days, with the remaining hours spread throughout the week. Evening, weekend, and occasional holiday availability will be required based on event schedules. During non-event periods, there is flexibility in when and where administrative work is completed.RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Business Support Coordinate day-to-day catering and meal delivery activities Manage scheduling, calendars, priorities, and operational deadlines Support weekly inventory, ordering, and organization Maintain and update processes, checklists, and workflows as needed Coordinate vendors, rentals, supplies, and other operational needs Support bookkeeping, invoice tracking, expense management, and other administrative functions Identify day-to-day operational issues and help coordinate solutions Work closely with the owner to keep priorities and operational needs organized Client & Event Coordination Coordinate inbound catering inquiries and client communication Understand client expectations, event details, and anticipate next steps Assist with site visits, load-in/out, rentals, staffing, service, and other logistical needs Maintain event timelines, production notes, staffing details, rentals, and other event information Coordinate with the kitchen team to make sure event details are communicated and organized Track deposits, payment schedules, and final invoices Maintain positive relationships with clients, venues, vendors, and other business partners Event Support & Execution Help anticipate issues and coordinate solutions during events Troubleshoot routine issues and escalate larger concerns when appropriate Coordinate post-event follow-up and capture notes for future events Assist with setup, breakdown, supply runs, and other onsite needs Step in wherever needed to help ensure a successful eventQUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience in catering, events, hospitality, food service, or a similar environment Comfortable working in a small business where priorities and schedules regularly change Willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays when events require it Able to work independently, solve day-to-day problems, and know when to escalate an issue Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong client communication and relationship-building skills Highly dependable with strong follow-through and attention to detail Comfortable balancing administrative work with hands-on operational and event support Proficient with Google Workspace, including calendars, documents, and spreadsheets Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform the physical tasks associated with catering and eventsCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Starting Pay:
$30/hour, with flexibility up to $35/hour for candidates with proven experience owning the full catering event process from initial inquiry through event execution and follow-up.
