Job Description

WEDDING ASSISTANT and OPENER The Oaks is a highly-rated wedding and private event venue located in Castle Rock, Colorado. We are looking for a part time to full time wedding assistant to join our team for the 2026 season and possibly beyond. This is an entry-level position and a great opportunity to learn more about the wedding and event industry. If you are interested in event sales or event coordination, this is an excellent starting point. The primary goal of this position is to open the venue on event days and take excellent care of the wedding party while they are getting ready. The secondary goal of this position is to help our team setup for the event and assist the lead event coordinator. Your schedule will consist primarily of daytime hours on event days, concentrated heavily on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), frequent Thursdays and Mondays, and occasional Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Most shifts will begin at 9am and are between eight and ten hours long, differing based on each event timeline. Your schedule will vary from week to week, depending on our booked events. Our ideal candidate is personable, reliable and hard-working. This is a very active position - you will be on your feet for the majority of the day. Event days are busy with lots of moving parts, so you'll need to be ready to switch gears at any minute. Flexibility is key.
WEDDING PARTY
Open the building on the wedding day, setup getting ready rooms Greet wedding party and help them get settled Greet and direct wedding vendors (hair and makeup, photographer, florist, DJ, etc.) Execute beverage and lunch service for wedding party Serve alcohol to the wedding party (training will be provided - you must be 21 or older to serve) Regularly check in with the client to make sure their needs are met Clean and tidy getting ready rooms as needed (clear lunch, glassware, empty trash, restock) Display above average professionalism and maturity when interacting with clients, guests, vendors and staff Act as an exemplary representative of The Oaks and the client hosting the event
EVENT SETUP
Walk the building and grounds to ensure the space looks clean and tidy Setup for ceremony rehearsal Assist Oaks Day-Of Coordinator with detail setup (name cards, signage, guest book, centerpieces, etc.) Participate in Service Team Meeting and communicate pertinent details along with Oaks Day-Of Coordinator Begin Ballroom setup; place tables and reception chairs, throw linens, fold napkins Assist Service Staff in completing remaining setup duties and prepare for guest arrival Assist Oaks Day-Of Coordinator with Wedding Ceremony (seating and directing guests, collecting wedding party and family members, coordinating music, executing processional) Other duties as assigned
Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour
