Program & Events Coordinator
Job Description
Job Overview The HDEC is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and passionate Program & Events Coordinator to join our team. This role is integral to supporting the Museum's mission of providing a gateway to the past that educates, entertains, and inspires lifelong learning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating a variety of programs and events, ensuring seamless execution, and fostering engaging experiences for visitors and community members alike. This position requires strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and excellent social skills to collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and interns on a diverse range of initiatives. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the planning, development, and execution of museum programs and special events. Collaborate with HDEC staff to develop strategic plans for upcoming programs and ensure alignment with the Museum's mission. Provide administrative support to staff, volunteers, and interns involved in program delivery and event management. Demonstrate excellent social skills to work effectively with a team of high-performing professionals. Guide groups during events and programs, ensuring engaging and educational experiences for participants. Develop promotional materials and outreach strategies to increase community engagement and attendance at events. Oversee logistics such as scheduling, resource allocation, vendor coordination, and setup/cleanup procedures. Monitor program outcomes and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Foster a welcoming environment that encourages lifelong learning through dynamic programming. Requirements Proven experience in coordinating programs or events within a cultural or educational setting is preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams, volunteers, and interns effectively. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional social skills for working collaboratively with diverse groups of people. Ability to develop strategic plans and execute them efficiently. Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with marketing or outreach efforts is a plus. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed for events. Pay:
