Job Description:
The Events Manager for the College of Nursing is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of high-impact events that advance the College's mission, visibility, and stakeholder engagement. This role manages complex event portfolios, ensures brand alignment, and collaborates with cross-functional partners to deliver exceptional experiences for internal and external audiences. High-Impact Event & Conference Execution Independently lead the end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale, high-visibility College events, including symposiums, conferences, donor events, leadership retreats, and academic ceremonies. Ensure all events align with institutional priorities, brand standards, and stakeholder expectations. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and run-of-show documents to ensure seamless execution. Event Operations & Logistics Oversee complex event logistics, including venue selection, vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, catering, audiovisual services, travel, and on-site execution. Manage event registration processes, attendee communication, and hospitality services to ensure a high-quality participant experience. Serve as the primary point of contact for event-related vendors and internal stakeholders. Budget & Financial Management Develop and manage event budgets in partnership with Finance and College leadership. Track expenses, process invoices, and ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high production standards. Identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities, as appropriate. Marketing, Communications & Engagement Collaborate with the College's marketing and communications team to develop and implement event promotion strategies, including digital campaigns, invitations, and media outreach. Contribute content for event-related materials such as programs, websites, and social media. Support efforts to increase event attendance, visibility, and stakeholder engagement. Assessment & Continuous Improvement Design and implement post-event evaluation strategies, including surveys and metrics analysis. Provide comprehensive event reports with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Apply feedback and data to refine processes, improve attendee experience, and enhance strategic alignment. Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with faculty, leadership, alumni relations, advancement, and external organizations to plan and execute events that support academic, research, and fundraising goals. Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event outcomes
Expected Salary:
$70,000-80,000
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and seven years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred:
  • Master's Degree in a related field such as Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, complex events with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Experience in academic or healthcare-related event environments.
  • Familiarity with event management platforms and CRM systems.
