POSITION OVERVIEW
The First Baptist Church of Glenarden is seeking a full-time Event Attendant to support the execution of ministry and church-wide events by ensuring all spaces are properly set, maintained, and presented with excellence. The Event Attendant plays a vital role in creating environments that are welcoming, organized, and conducive to ministry. This position reports to the Event Services Lead Supervisor and works closely with the Event Services Supervisors, taking daily direction and assignments to ensure that all event spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness, readiness, and hospitality. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, a servant's heart, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Scheduling:
This position requires schedule flexibility in order to best serve the needs of the ministry.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Event Setup & Execution Set up, break down, and reset rooms for events across the Ministry Center and Worship Center Arrange tables, chairs, and equipment according to event specifications Ensure all rooms are prepared and maintained in an excellent manner Support event transitions and refresh spaces as needed throughout the day 2. Facility Readiness & Maintenance Ensure all assigned areas are clean, organized, and presented in "mint condition" Perform routine inspections of event spaces to maintain standards of excellence Follow Maintenance Inspection Forms and established procedures Assist with moving equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed 3. Team Collaboration Work with the Event Services Supervisors to establish daily priorities and assignments Receive overall guidance and direction from the Event Services Lead Supervisor Communicate effectively with team members and leadership Support other team members to ensure seamless event execution 4. Ministry Excellence & Hospitality Embrace the mission of creating Atmospheres of Excellence Conducive for Ministry Demonstrate a spirit of excellence and hospitality in all interactions Serve members, guests, and ministry partners with warmth and professionalism
QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual Requirements Must be saved, possess a servant's heart, and be a member (or willing to become a member) in good standing at FBCG. Must be able to submit to pastoral authority Must display a Christ-like demeanor, especially in demanding situations Must have an understanding and appreciation for the mission and ministry of FBCG Professional Requirements Minimum of 1 year of event setup, conference services, or related experience (or equivalent) Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain professionalism with leadership, members, and guests
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required Hospitality, hotel, or event experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and carry items for extended periods Ability to perform physical labor including climbing, reaching, and lifting
