Job Summary The Event Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff at the haunted house venue during the entire event season. This position provides essential support not only during event hours, but also in the critical periods before and after each event. Responsibilities include preparing the venue by cleaning and setting up public and backstage areas prior to opening, maintaining cleanliness and responding to sanitation needs throughout the event, and performing thorough post-event cleanup and reset to ensure the venue is ready for the next use. The Event Janitor works closely with the operations team to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety, contributing to a positive guest experience and smooth event operations.
Key Responsibilities Venue Cleaning:
Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors in public and backstage areas throughout the event. Empty trash and recycling bins regularly; replace liners as needed. Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring supplies are maintained and facilities are sanitary. Wipe down high-touch surfaces (e.g., handrails, door handles, counters) to minimize health risks.
Event Support:
Respond quickly to spills, debris, or other sanitation issues during event hours. Monitor and maintain cleanliness in queue lines, entrances, exits, and concession areas. Assist with post-event cleanup, including removing decorations, props, and waste as directed.
Safety & Compliance:
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following all training and safety guidelines. Report any maintenance or safety hazards to management immediately. Wear provided safety equipment and adhere to venue policies at all times.
Other Duties:
Support other operational tasks as needed or assigned by management, such as assisting with minor repairs or helping set up/take down event materials. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, crowded, and themed environment. No prior janitorial experience necessary—training and equipment provided
Reliability:
Arrive on time and complete assigned shifts throughout the haunt season.
Professionalism:
Interact courteously with guests, staff, and management.
Flexibility:
Be prepared to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required.
Teamwork:
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues; assist other departments as needed.
Compensation & Employment Details Hourly Rate:
$18.00 hr
