Concessions Coordinator

Job Description

The Ralph Engelstad Arena is seeking to hire a Concessions Coordinator. This position assists in the daily operation and execution of concession services at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Working closely with the Director of Concessions and Concessions Manager, this full-time onsite position provides operational support for University of North Dakota (UND) hockey games, UND basketball and volleyball games, concerts, and special events. The Concessions Coordinator serves as a floor lead during events, helping oversee concession staff, maintain cleanliness standards, support inventory operations, and ensure efficient guest service throughout the venue. This role is ideal for an organized, hands-on team member who thrives in a fast-paced event environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Concessions and Concessions Manager with daily operational needs.
  • Serve as a floor lead during games, concerts, and special events.
  • Support concession stand setup, breakdown, and operational readiness.
  • Monitor concession areas during events to ensure cleanliness, organization, and efficient service.
  • Assist with supervision and support of part-time and event staff.
  • Help train new employees on concession procedures and guest service expectations.
  • Assist with weekly truck deliveries and unloading of inventory shipments as needed.
  • Organize and stock concession stands, storage rooms, and portable locations.
  • Stock and maintain all building vending machines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout concession areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts, product rotation, and restocking procedures.
  • Support cash handling procedures and POS system operations as needed.
  • Respond to operational issues during events and communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Help ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain fountain drink and beer systems.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven leadership and teamwork experience.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making, and effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and applicable health regulations.
  • Experience working with point-of-sale systems.
  • Completion of ServSafe training within 90 days of hire; renewal of training as they expire.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of concessions, food service, hospitality, or event operations management experience related to the responsibilities specified above preferred.
  • Experience in sports and entertainment venues, arenas, stadiums, or large-scale event facilities strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Full-time onsite position based at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
  • Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Periods of standing and/or walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push carts up to 300 pounds at times.
  • Fast-paced event venue environment with varying schedules based on the event calendar.

  • $42,000-$48,000 base salary depending on qualifications.
