Shift:
First Shift The Events & Engagement Manager is a key member of the Development team, responsible for planning and executing events that inspire supporters to connect deeply with Covenant House NJ's mission and values, driving both engagement and long-term support. Who Should Apply In addition to mission-driven event professionals, strong consideration will be given to applicants with transferrable skills described in the position summary and interest in the core responsibilities listed below. In addition to those with past event and engagement experience, candidates with successful histories as executive assistants, project coordinators and office managers looking for a mission-focused role serving others are encouraged to apply. Duties and responsibilities Fundraising & Engagement Lead the planning and execution of all signature fundraising events (e.g., Night of Broadway Stars, Sleep Outs) from concept, to supplies and logistics, to post-event analysis. In-person support will be expected for major events and will include some nights and weekends. Recruit, train and manage volunteers and CHNJ staff supporting events Provide superior customer service to P2P fundraisers via website support, coaching, providing fundraising materials and other support as needed. Support year-round Service Days, in-kind donation drives and other events Create, edit, proof materials to support event and development department mailings Technology & Data Management Partner with the Director, Operations to ensure proper campaign setup and tracking in platforms like Salesforce, Donor Drive, and Classy. Create and manage events, enter data, and generate reports to track performance and guide strategy. Use Canva or similar tools to create event signage, branded documents and other materials to support events Bring a creative, experimental mindset to events and engagement work - testing new formats, technologies, and strategies to expand reach and deepen impact Maintain database of key electronic Development Department resources: youth stories, photos, videos, documents etc. Reporting & Process Improvement Develop and adhere to event and departmental budgets and expense policies Track event participation and fundraising metrics in collaboration with the Development Ops team. Participate in pre- and post-event reviews and recommend future improvements, including both cost and revenue Ensure timely acknowledgment and compliance with internal protocols. Administrative Responsibilities Develop and maintain vendor relationships necessary to support events and the broader Development Department Prepare expense reports for leadership team members. Maintain adequate and orderly stock of event supplies and other hard materials needed to facilitate the work of the Development Department Assist in preparing and assembling mailings to support development activities. All other duties assigned by management staff This position requires three days in the office exact days TBD.Salary:
65,000 a yearExperience and Skills:
Superior organizational skills with high level of attention to detail Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills-both written and verbal. Customer service mindset for donors, key stakeholders and Development Department team members. Curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement Commitment to the mission of Covenant House Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Bachelor's Degree and /or 2+ years of experience in development, events, marketing, or related field. Valid NJ driver's license and insurable driving record.Job Benefits:
