Servers | Captains | Closers About Gourmet Fresh At Gourmet Fresh Catering, we believe great events are created by people who genuinely care about the experience they are delivering. From weddings and corporate events to large-scale celebrations, our Front of House team is responsible for making sure every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and well taken care of. We are looking for experienced, service-minded hospitality professionals to join our Front of House team as Servers, Captains, and Closers . What You'll Do Our Front of House team members play a critical role in the success of every event.
Responsibilities may include:
Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests throughout the event. Set, maintain, and break down event spaces according to Gourmet Fresh standards. Prepare dining areas, bars, buffet stations, service areas, and guest spaces before events. Serve food and beverages while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Anticipate guest needs and respond quickly and appropriately to requests. Communicate effectively with Captains, Venue Managers, Chefs, event clients, and other team members. Follow event timelines, service standards, and direction from event leadership. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the event. Assist with event transitions, resets, and breakdown as needed. Represent Gourmet Fresh with professionalism and a positive attitude at every event. Support your teammates and contribute to a true One Team, Big Dream environment. Perform additional event-related duties as needed to ensure a successful guest experience. Captain Responsibilities Captains are experienced Front of House leaders who help direct the service team and ensure events are executed to Gourmet Fresh standards. In addition to the responsibilities above, Captains may: Lead and support a team of Servers during event execution. Communicate event details, timelines, service expectations, and assignments to team members. Serve as a point of contact for Front of House staff during an event. Monitor service quality and guest experience. Identify and communicate issues quickly to event leadership. Help ensure proper execution of event timelines and service standards. Coach and support Servers while maintaining a positive team environment. Assist with opening and closing responsibilities and ensure the team leaves the event space properly reset. Closer Responsibilities Closers are responsible for helping ensure the event concludes smoothly and the venue is left clean, organized, and ready for the next use.
Responsibilities may include:
Complete event breakdown and closing duties. Clear tables, service areas, and guest spaces. Properly clean and organize equipment and supplies. Assist with loading and returning catering equipment and supplies. Ensure all assigned closing tasks are completed before leaving the event. Communicate any issues, missing items, or damage to event leadership. Work efficiently while maintaining Gourmet Fresh standards through the final moments of the event. Ideal candidates will have:
Previous experience in catering, restaurants, hotels, events, banquets, country clubs, or other hospitality environments . A strong understanding of professional guest service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. A dependable and team-oriented approach to work. The ability to follow direction and execute event-specific instructions. A professional appearance and positive attitude. The ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform physical event duties. Reliable transportation to various event locations throughout Central Ohio. Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules.
