Junior Events Coordinator

Job Description

We are a boutique production, events/entertainment company located in the North Shore of Chicago. Since 1976, our team has been working with corporations and associations of all sizes to meet their event, meeting or trade-show goals.
Position:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, results-oriented Administrative Assistant with excellent organizational, computer, and administrative skills. Candidate must be comfortable working independently in a quiet office as well as at home. Position is flexible regarding amount of hours (daytime availability) with a combination of work from home and in office hours. Your working hours can be flexible and will be discussed with the company's president. This is the perfect opportunity for a creative person interested in the industry and excited to share their ideas and passion. The role also comes with a chance to represent the company at networking and industry events. Duties include but not limited to: Organizing and drafting responses (via dictation) to executive emails Provide day to day administrative support to president Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and handle correspondence for internal and client facing projects Prepare proposals, contracts, invoices, and event documentation Maintain event databases, client files, and vendor records Assist with event logistics such as vendor research, vendor coordination, and materials preparation Various personal assistant duties as needed (i.e. returning packages, occasional errands, personal scheduling) This position reports directly to the company's president. They will assist the president on the day to day needs - ranging from any of the above items to more. Must be extremely organized and able to juggle multiple tasks with shifting priorities while working flexible hours throughout the work day. This is a unique position that requires an equally unique individual who can be flexible regarding hours and thrives in a space with little structure.
Skills/Experience Needed:
At least 1 year of administrative experience is a must Strong command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work, Excel, Power Point) Positive attitude, professionalism under pressure, and a passion for creating memorable experiences Events/hospitality/marketing experience preferred

The offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check at company's expense
Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
