Commensurate with experience About Shelby Farms Park Conservancy Shelby Farms Park Conservancy (SFPC) is the nonprofit that manages and cares for Shelby Farms Park and Shelby Farms Greenline in Memphis, TN. SFPC is responsible for daily management, fundraising to meet operational budget needs, setting the vision for the Park's future, and stewarding its natural resources. SFPC team members are committed to our vision of creating a celebrated 21st-century park that defines and shapes a great city and that provides inclusive, equitable, and free access for every resident of the Memphis area. About Shelby Farms Park At 4,500 acres, Shelby Farms Park is one of the largest urban parks in the U.S. It features miles of trails, lakes and ponds, a buffalo herd, the Woodland Discovery Playground, the FedEx Event Center, a treetop adventure course, a sprayground, and an outdoor stage. It is a treasured asset for Memphis, offering inclusive and free access to all. Position Summary Shelby Farms Park Conservancy is seeking friendly, dependable individuals to work as Event Support Representatives. The Event Support Representative provides on-site supervision of events taking place at the facility, ensuring that contractual agreements are met. The individual must be customer service oriented and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Duties & Areas Of Responsibility Open and secure the facility before and after events. Direct and coordinate activities with food service and other vendors; oversee basic needs of the client during an event. Set up and break down chairs, tables, stages, audio-visual, and other equipment in accordance with client contract requirements. Explain policies and procedures for use of the facility. Respond to emergency situations by determining and implementing appropriate procedures. Inspect facility before, during, and after functions for cleanliness and safety; touch up areas as needed. Produce event reports noting any significant problems. Work within reservation software to book new clients as needed. Answer phones and take detailed messages for staff within reservation software. Assist with additional events and Sales + Events special projects as needed. Requirements & Desired Qualifications Enthusiastic, dependable, self-motivated, and self-aware Demonstrates values of teamwork, accountability, authenticity, and learning Knowledgeable of event operations Ability to set up and troubleshoot basic audio-visual equipment Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to deal patiently with problems and complaints and resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner Organized with strong attention to detail Ability to lift and move at least 25 lbs Ability to work nights and weekends, sometimes with short notice Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Experience in hospitality services Experience with pre- and post-event reporting Physical Demands & Working Environment Must be able to lift 25 lbs Ability to stand or walk constantly during shift Compensation & Schedule Part-time or full-time options, 25 - 40 hours per week Must be available to work weekends and holidays This job description outlines typical duties and responsibilities and does not limit management's ability to assign or reassign responsibilities as needed.
