Event Coordinator Location:
Embassy Suites Denton Convention Center Events Coordinator Non-Exempt.pdf Essential Responsibilities Manage BEOs and contracts, ensuring accurate execution and follow-up on the day of events. Assist in controlling costs and labor within budgeted guidelines. Maintain strong working relationships with the General Manager, Director of Sales, vendors, and other team members; conduct regular vendor touchpoints. Execute detailed event agendas with strong attention to detail. Oversee event setup (tables, chairs, décor, equipment) and ensure all elements align with the BEO. Provide excellent guest service from start to finish, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally. Troubleshoot and problem-solve as needed under pressure and deadlines. Ensure guest satisfaction and quality service standards are consistently met. Serve as a role model for positive team member behavior. Ensure compliance with all OHM policies and procedures. Report to work on time, in uniform, and in accordance with company appearance standards. Embrace OHX Experience, O'Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, Team Member Satisfaction, Health & Wellness, and Safety initiatives. Attend and participate in all applicable meetings and functions. Complete errands and assignments as needed. Assist in determining adequate staffing levels with management. Support the Director of Sales with site visits and client meetings. Perform other related duties as required. Skills & Abilities Strong communication, presentation, organization, time management, and listening skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to present professionally and persuasively to individuals and groups. Solid knowledge of products and services offered. Ability to teach, mentor, and train new team members. Self-motivated with confidence, enthusiasm, and professionalism. Ability to build sales relationships within the community through events and activities. Analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the property. Ability to work effectively with all levels of customers and management. Education & Experience High school diploma required. Hospitality degree preferred (experience may substitute for degree). Comprehensive understanding of hospitality operations. Hours Flexible scheduling required, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements of the
Position Light Work:
Exert up to 40 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and negligible amounts constantly. Walking and standing required to a significant degree. May occasionally lift more than 40 lbs. Physical Activity of the Position Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Safety-sensitive position subject to additional safety requirements. Working Conditions Primarily indoor office and event spaces with minimal distractions. Protected from weather, but not always from temperature changes.
Language Requirements Reading:
Ability to understand instructions, safety rules, and event details.
Writing:
Ability to write reports with correct grammar, spelling, and formatting.
Speaking:
