This is a full time, temporary contingent upon availability of funds position with a possibility of extension and is eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, and vision. Position Summary The Coordinator for Communication and Events support the planning, promotion, and execution of communications and events related to employer engagement and career-related programming within the Office of Business, Community, and Government Engagement. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the role assists with student-facing communications, event logistics, scheduling, and coordination to ensure timely outreach and smooth event delivery. The Coordinator works closely with professional staff and student employees to support employer visits, career events, and engagement activities, contributing to consistent communication and effective operations
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and distribution of student-facing communications related to employer engagement, career opportunities, and events. Support event planning and logistics for employer engagement and career-related programming, including scheduling, room coordination, registration support, materials preparation, and on-site assistance. Maintain and update event calendars, communication lists, and promotional materials to ensure accurate and timely information. Coordinate with the Senior Coordinator for Communication and Events and other staff to support communication timelines, outreach efforts, and event execution. Assist with tracking participation, attendance, and basic metrics related to communications and events. Support student employees or volunteers assisting with communications or event activities as assigned. Ensure communications and event materials adhere to university branding, accessibility, and messaging guidelines. Maintain organized records, files, and documentation related to communications and event coordination. Complies with all State and University policies. Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Education required:
Associate's degree (AA) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience required:
Demonstrated experience supporting events or programs, including scheduling, logistics, registration, or on-site assistance. Experience assisting with written or digital communications, such as email outreach, event promotion, or informational materials.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Experience working in a higher education, career services, or workforce development environment, particularly in roles supporting communications or events. Experience assisting with event promotion and coordination, such as career fairs, employer information sessions, workshops, or campus programs. Experience supporting student-facing communications, including email campaigns, event announcements, or digital outreach. Familiarity with event registration, communication, or content management tools used to support outreach and coordination.
