Job Description

Description Event Manager - Golf & Group Events Job Overview The Event Manager is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of golf groups, corporate events, and association programs. This role ensures an exceptional guest experience while driving incremental food and beverage revenue. The Event Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients and resort departments, managing events from sales turnover through post-event billing and reconciliation. Key Responsibilities Event Revenue Optimization Drive food and beverage revenue by creating opportunities for golf groups to dine on property, including golf course restaurants Partner with Golf Sales to increase ancillary revenue and overall spend Full Lifecycle Event Management Execute assigned golf and group events from initial sales turnover through final billing and reconciliation Ensure seamless planning, execution, and post-event follow-up Event Planning & Client Experience Collaborate with clients to customize events, including menu selection, room setups, and service details Deliver experiences aligned with client expectations and resort standards Cross-Functional Coordination Act as the central liaison between clients and internal departments (culinary, service, golf operations, accounting) and external vendors Ensure all event logistics are clearly communicated and executed Production & Vendor Management Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors (e.g., décor, AV, rentals) to support event production and enhancements Financial Oversight Support deposit collection and payment processes in partnership with the Group Accounting team Ensure all billing is accurate, complete, and reconciled in a timely manner Operational Excellence Maintain professionalism and composure in high-pressure environments Effectively manage last-minute changes and ensure clear communication across all stakeholders Client Responsiveness Maintain a high level of responsiveness, adhering to a 12-24 hour turnaround on client communications Industry Awareness Stay current on event, food, and beverage trends; introduce innovative ideas to enhance the guest experience Qualifications Education & Experience Associate or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management preferred OR 2-5 years of relevant experience in hotel/resort operations or event management Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role required Skills & Knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) Strong knowledge of food, wine, and spirits Familiarity with golf operations preferred Total Rewards & Benefits Health & Wellness Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Life and Disability insurance Supplemental coverage (Critical Illness, Accident, Pet Insurance) Financial Security 401(k) with employer match (up to 6%) Competitive compensation with performance-based increases Associate Relief Fund for financial support Lifestyle & Resort Perks Access to resort amenities, including golf and tennis (availability-based) Discounted rates at Crescent Hotels & Resorts properties Discounts on dining and retail outlets Subsidized meals and optional associate housing with shuttle service Career Growth Manager in Training (MIT) Program Paid time off, vacation, and holidays Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, navigate stairs, and lift 15+ lbs Professional proficiency in English required; Spanish preferred Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs Qualifications Cross-Functional Coordination & Client Management Experience working cross-functionally with culinary, operations, sales, and vendors to execute events. Skilled in managing client relationships, handling billing and reconciliation, and adapting to last-minute changes in a fast-paced environment. Education Bachelors (Preferred) Associates (Preferred) High School (Required) Experience Required Cross-Functional Coordination & Client Management Experience working cross-functionally with culinary, operations, sales, and vendors to execute events. Skilled in managing client relationships, handling billing and reconciliation, and adapting to last-minute changes in a fast-paced environment. Required Food & Beverage / Revenue-Driving Experience Proven experience promoting food and beverage offerings, upselling menus, and increasing on-property spend. Strong knowledge of food, wine, and service standards with the ability to identify revenue opportunities and enhance the guest experience. Required 2 years: Event & Hospitality Management Experience 2-5 years managing corporate, golf, or social events within a hotel, resort, or club setting. Experience coordinating logistics, client communications, banquet event orders (BEOs), and on-site execution while delivering high levels of guest satisfaction.
