Operations & Events Assistant Dallas Builders Association Plano, TX Job Details Full-time $48,000 - $52,000 a year 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Executive administrative support Communications Business Administration Business Associate's degree Full Job Description Operations & Events Assistant Position Summary The Operations & Events Assistant provides administrative, organizational and logistical support to the Executive Officer and assists Association staff with meetings, events and special projects. This position supports the effective day-to-day operation of the Dallas Builders Association and works collaboratively with all Association staff. The position works collaboratively with all Association staff and provides administrative and logistical support when requested. Each staff member remains responsible for their respective programs, projects and areas of responsibility. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism, discretion and sound judgment. Office hour 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday 35 Hours per week Essential Responsibilities Executive & Board Support Provides administrative support to the Executive Officer, including correspondence, scheduling, reports, presentations and special projects. Assists with Board of Directors, Executive Committee and other leadership meetings, including agendas, meeting materials, minutes and follow-up. Maintains confidential records and assists with Association policies, procedures and governance documents. Assists with elections, nominations, officer transitions and other leadership activities. Meetings & Events Assists Association staff with planning and execution of meetings, educational programs, networking events and special events. Supports event logistics including venues, food and beverage, registration, setup, signage, supplies and vendor communication. Provides on-site assistance at events and assists with post-event administrative tasks. Human Resources & Administration Maintains confidential personnel records and assists with employee onboarding, offboarding and benefits administration. Assists with updates to the Employee Handbook and personnel policies. Supports staff meetings, training and internal activities. Maintains Association records and assists with contracts, renewals, insurance, subscriptions and other administrative requirements. Special Projects & Association Support Assists the Executive Officer with special projects, research, reports and other initiatives. Provides administrative and logistical assistance to Association staff when requested. Helps identify and address administrative needs and supports changing priorities of the Association. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Officer. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, hospitality, communications or a related field preferred. Two to three years of experience in administrative support, event planning, association management, nonprofit organizations or a related field preferred. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently, take initiative and work effectively as part of a team. Professional, friendly and service-oriented demeanor. Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends in connection with Association events. This position primarily works in an office environment but will regularly assist with Association meetings and events. The position may require occasional evening and weekend work, as well as standing, walking and lifting or carrying event materials and supplies.
Pay:
