Job Description

Job Summary ABC-VA is seeking a full-time Member Services Coordinator to support membership engagement and retention; coordinate networking events, and assist with general office operations including apprenticeship education. This position works closely with the Vice President and Office Manager to ensure a positive member experience and the smooth operation of chapter activities. Membership Engagement Serve as a resource for current, prospective, and inactive members, communicating the value and benefits of ABC-VA membership. Promote chapter programs, services, events, and engagement opportunities. Maintain accurate membership and prospect records within the chapter database. Support membership recruitment, retention, and outreach efforts. Build relationships with prospective and existing members through phone, email, and other outreach efforts to support membership growth and retention. Networking Events Coordinate and support chapter networking events from planning through execution. Assist with venue selection, vendor coordination, registrations, communications, and event logistics. Collaborate with staff to promote events and maximize member participation. Maintain event records, reporting, invoicing, and other event-related administrative functions. Office Support Provide administrative and operational support for daily chapter activities. Deliver excellent customer service to members, visitors, students, and guests. Assist with meeting preparation, training programs, events, and general office functions. Support chapter staff with projects and activities that contribute to organizational goals. Committee Responsibilities Serve as staff liaison to the various committees. Support additional committees, councils, and member engagement initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Prior administrative or customer service experience preferred. Event planning, event coordination, or event management experience is strongly preferred but not required. Schedule & Work Environment This is a full-time, in-person position based in Chesapeake, Virginia. Work hours generally occur during normal business hours; however, some early morning, evening, and occasional weekend hours may be required to support chapter events, meetings, and programs. Schedule requirements may vary based on chapter activities and event calendars. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout the office and event venues for extended periods. Ability to set up and break down meeting and event spaces. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds . Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and copiers. Why ABC-VA? $46,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
