Job Description
Event Assistants Role Overview:
Event Assistants support Wedding Coordinators and Venue Supervisors on event days. This is a great entry-level role for those who want to learn the industry.Duties Include:
- Assisting with setup and breakdown of event décor.
- Greeting vendors and helping with directions/questions.
- Supporting the planner during key moments (ceremony lineup, reception transitions, vendor check-ins).
- Handling last-minute details during the wedding day.
- Maintaining professionalism and client support throughout the event.
Requirements :
- Outgoing, dependable, and proactive.
- Able to follow instructions quickly and work well as part of a team.
- Must be available weekends and some weekdays.
Training :
- Training is on the spot. No formal training
- You will shadow and follow the lead of the assigned Wedding Planner during the event.
- Over time, you'll gain hands-on knowledge of wedding flow, vendor management, and client support.
- You will work with various wedding planners and have a portal that you sign up to assist weddings.
Assistant Positions:
We offer two types of assistant shifts: 1. Until Dinner Assistant ○ Arrive at the time given by your lead planner. ○ Stay through the setup, ceremony, cocktail hour, and initial reception. ○ Leave before dinner service begins. ○Typical Hours:
Less than 5 hours 2. Full Assistant ○ Arrive at vendor access time and remain for the full duration of the wedding. ○ Assist with set-up, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and end-of-night breakdown. ○ Expect ~2.5 hours of downtime during open dance floor (when fewer tasks are required). ○ Help with décor clean-up and the couple's final send-off. ○ Meal provided during event.Additional Notes:
Schedule:
Flexible and contracted, but requires weekend availability for weddings and occasional weekday meetings.Industry Expectations:
This industry is glamorous, rewarding, and fun — but also high-pressure and hard work. Reliability, presentation, and professionalism are non-negotiable- 1099 contract position
