Event Manager
Job Description

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join our team as a Catering Event Manager. This role is responsible for managing the planning and operational execution of assigned catered and Harry s Owned events from initial handoff through event completion. The role will partner closely with the Director of Events & Culinary teams to translate event plans into clear, organized, and executable operational plans.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, hospitality-driven, and confident managing the details of multiple events simultaneously. They understand that exceptional events require thoughtful planning, strong systems, clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and an unwavering commitment to service.
RESPONSIBILITIESOwn the operational planning process for assigned events from contract handoff through execution, ensuring all event details are translated into clear and actionable operational plans.
Understanding of the sales process and ability to accurately quote and upcharge for services added after contracting.
Partner closely with Catering Event Manager, culinary leadership & Staffing Manager to develop event timelines, production schedules, staffing plans, service plans, and other operational requirements.
Review event details, floor plans, menus, guest counts, service styles, rentals, vendor requirements, beverage needs, and other logistical considerations to identify operational needs and potential challenges.
Develop and maintain comprehensive event documents, including event orders, timelines, staffing plans, rental orders, production schedules, setup diagrams, load-in/load-out plans, and service specifications.
Coordinate event logistics with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring all parties have the information needed to execute successfully.
Lead operational meetings, event briefings, and pre-event walkthroughs as needed to ensure alignment across departments.
Manage event-related rentals, equipment, supplies, signage, product orders, and other operational needs, ensuring items are ordered, received, organized, and available for each event.
Work with the Catering Staffing team to ensure staffing plans and labor needs align with event scope, service style, guest count, and operational requirements.
Support the development, documentation, and implementation of event and service SOPs to create consistency across Harry s events.
Manage day of operations of your assigned events, overseeing setup, service execution, vendor coordination, and breakdown.
Serve as a hands-on operational leader during events, proactively identifying issues and providing solutions in real time.
Conduct post-event reviews to identify opportunities for improved planning, communication, efficiency, and guest experience.
Maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the planning process, escalating and resolving operational concerns proactively.
Identify opportunities to improve event systems, processes, communication, and operational efficiency.
Support the planning and execution of private and external catering events as needed.
Contribute to the continued growth and development of Harry s events and catering operations.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of professional hospitality experience, with significant experience in events, catering, restaurants, bars, or hospitality operations.
Ideally candidate posses understanding of wine & bar servicesProven experience planning and executing events, preferably across a variety of sizes, formats, and service styles.
Strong understanding of event logistics, catering operations, service execution, staffing, rentals, vendor coordination, and production planning.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong project management skills with the ability to take an event from planning through successful execution.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate expectations, timelines, and operational details to leadership, clients, vendors, and hourly team members.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate operational needs and identify potential issues before they impact an event.
Ability to remain calm, solutions-oriented, and professional in fast-paced event environments.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with culinary, bar, operations, sales, events, and external partners.
Experience creating event documents, operational plans, timelines, SOPs, and other planning materials.
Strong problem-solving skills and the judgment to independently resolve issues while knowing when to escalate.
Passion for hospitality and a genuine interest in creating memorable, highly executed guest experiences.
Ability to lead by example and establish a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
Comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with a broader Events & Catering team.
Ability to be on your feet and actively support events for extended periods of time.
Proficient with Google Suite and event planning, scheduling, or other hospitality management systems.
Must possess or be able to obtain any necessary certifications or licenses required by local, state, or federal regulations.
Must be able to travel between Harry s locations and event sites as required.
COMPENSATIONThis role has a $92,000 annual base salary and is commission eligible. Anticipated total annual earnings, including commission, are approximately $102,000 annually, based on performance and event sales.

Medical insurance: Harry s pays 100% of the employee premium for the HMO plan or 50% of the employee premium for the PPO plan.
Dental and vision insurance: Harry s pays 50% of the employee premium.401(k) retirement plan: Employees become eligible to participate after completing one year of employment.
Paid vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation annually, increasing with years of service.
Personal days: Three paid personal days annually.
Paid sick and safe time: Provided in accordance with Washington State and applicable local law.
