Overview Job description: Front of House Staff at Martinelli's Market Martinelli's Market is a bustling neighborhood market known for its exceptional baked goods, delicious deli sandwiches, and top-notch customer service. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Front of House Staff. If you have a passion for food, a friendly demeanor, and enjoy creating a welcoming environment, we want to hear from you! We are looking for a Front of House employee that can work 5 days a week between the hours of 12pm-8pm. This will include weekend availability.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Provide exceptional service to our customers by greeting them warmly, assisting with inquiries, and ensuring their needs are met. Take orders for deli sandwiches and sides, making recommendations based on customer preferences and dietary requirements.

Food Handling:

Serve and package baked goods and other products with care and attention to detail. Ensure proper handling and storage of food items to maintain freshness and quality. Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.

Pastry Case and Deli Knowledge:

Develop a thorough understanding of our bakery products, deli sandwiches, and sides. Be able to answer customer questions about ingredients, flavors, allergen information, and provide recommendations based on their preferences.

Cleaning:

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front of house area, including the deli counter, seating area, pastry case, serving counter, bread wall counter, and outdoor seating area. Perform cleaning duties such as wiping down surfaces, sweeping, restocking supplies as needed, deck brushing floors, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning shelving, etc.

Qualifications:

Previous customer service experience is preferred, especially in a food service or retail environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and team members. Basic knowledge of food handling and safety procedures. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of our bakery products, deli sandwiches, and sides. Availability to work evenings and weekends.
