Job Summary Our Pastry Production bakers are responsible for creating a variety of high-quality, from-scratch pastries and desserts while maintaining CRUST's standards for consistency, quality, and presentation. This position works with a wide variety of products, which may include pies, cookies, cakes, tarts, plated desserts, macarons, donuts, croissants, cinnamon rolls, layered pastries, and other specialty baked goods. Our pastry team works with high-quality ingredients to create products that are second to none. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong technical execution, the ability to follow core mixing and production guidelines, and the ability to meet tight production schedules. Duties Mix, scale, prepare, shape, bake, and finish a wide variety of pastries and baked goods according to CRUST recipes and specifications. Accurately follow recipe formulas, mixing procedures, weights, measurements, temperatures, and production standards. Work with both traditional and modern pastry techniques. Assist with the creation and execution of cakes, tarts, pies, cookies, layered pastries, plated desserts, macarons, and other specialty products. Assist with laminated dough production, including mixing, laminating, shaping, proofing, baking, and finishing products such as croissants, cinnamon rolls, and donuts. Maintain precise and consistent product quality, appearance, size, and presentation. Work efficiently according to established production schedules and deadlines. Pull and organize daily production based on department needs. Understand and follow the department's production booking process. Monitor ingredients and product inventory and communicate inventory or production needs to leadership. Assist with testing and developing new or seasonal pastry products and recipes as needed. Safely operate bakery machinery, ovens, mixers, sheeters, and other production equipment. Properly clean and sanitize bakery machinery, equipment, tools, workstations, storage areas, and preparation areas. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Work safely around hot ovens, heavy equipment, and sharp utensils. Communicate effectively and work cohesively with other members of the pastry and production teams. Complete additional production responsibilities as assigned based on business and seasonal needs. Qualifications Previous experience in pastry preparation or baking is highly preferred Strong knife skills and dough preparation abilities Knowledge of cake decorating techniques and baked goods production Familiarity with food handling safety standards within the food industry Ability to operate kitchen equipment confidently and safely Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Good communication skills with a positive attitude toward teamwork Basic math skills for recipe measurements and portioning Catering or high-volume production experience is a plus Join us at CRUST where your passion for baking will thrive!
