Restoration Mitigation Crew Leader Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restoration Mitigation Crew Leader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and performing comprehensive mitigation and restoration activities in both residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other environmental damage. As the primary on-site supervisor, you will coordinate daily operations, delegate tasks, and ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with industry standards. You will oversee field crews, provide hands-on support, perform quality checks, document all work, and maintain strong communication with clients, project managers, and insurance representatives throughout the mitigation and restoration process.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct, supervise, and motivate a team of technicians on-site during mitigation and restoration projects, including assigning daily tasks, monitoring performance, and resolving any site issues. Ensure all work complies with company policies, IICRC standards, and applicable regulations. Perform and oversee water extraction, structural drying, dehumidification, mold remediation, fire and smoke damage cleaning, odor removal, and other restoration services using industry-standard methods and specialized equipment. Troubleshoot unexpected issues and adapt approaches as needed to ensure effective mitigation. Conduct thorough site assessments to identify the source and extent of damage. Accurately document all losses, take comprehensive before-and-after photos, prepare moisture maps, and generate detailed reports for project managers, insurance adjusters, and clients. Assist with estimating job scopes and materials needed. Set up, monitor, and maintain mitigation equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA filtration units, negative air machines, and moisture meters. Track and record equipment placement and performance, ensuring optimal function throughout the project. Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues as necessary. Enforce strict job site safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and ensure proper containment of affected areas to prevent cross-contamination. Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections to identify and address potential hazards. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all relevant safety regulations. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, addressing their questions and concerns, providing regular updates on project progress, and setting expectations for timelines and outcomes. Educate clients about the restoration process and next steps, ensuring a positive customer experience. Train, mentor, and evaluate junior technicians, providing hands-on guidance in technical procedures, safety practices, and customer service. Foster a collaborative team environment and encourage ongoing professional development. Maintain detailed and accurate records of job site activities, including labor hours, materials used, equipment deployed, and progress notes. Ensure all documentation meets company and insurance requirements for billing and compliance. Adhere to all OSHA, IICRC, EPA, and company safety guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced training and certifications such as IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT), or equivalent are strongly preferred. Additional certifications in fire/smoke restoration or lead/asbestos abatement are a plus. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in water, fire, or mold restoration/mitigation, with demonstrated ability to lead crews and manage job sites. Experience with insurance claims processes is highly desirable. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in challenging situations. Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, and wearing PPE as required. Must be comfortable working in environments with potential exposure to mold, water, smoke, and other hazards. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies. Compensation and Career Growth Our Restoration Mitigation Team Leader Advancement and Classification Program provides the following annual pay ranges. Placement depends on qualifications, demonstrated skills, and the responsibilities of the assigned level.  Level I —

• 50,000.  Level II — Mitigation Technician II (Lead Tech) : $47,840
• 52,000.  Level III — Mitigation Technician III (Crew Lead): $50,000
• 55,000.

 Level IV—

Assistant Mitigation Manager:

• 60,000.

 Level V—

Mitigation Manager:

• 65,000.

Training:

$55,000

• 65,000.
