The ideal candidate has an interest in specialty coffee, understands roasting fundamentals, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality roasted coffee. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys coffee production, quality control, and working as part of a collaborative coffee team. Key Responsibilities Roast coffee according to established recipes, profiles, and quality standards Operate and monitor commercial coffee roasting equipment safely Measure and prepare green coffee beans for roasting Monitor roast temperature, timing, airflow, and other roasting parameters Make roasting adjustments as needed to maintain consistency Record roast profiles, batch information, and production data accurately Monitor roasted coffee for color, aroma, development, and overall quality Assist with sample roasting and coffee quality evaluation Perform basic cupping and sensory evaluation as directed Package and label roasted coffee accurately Maintain clean and organized roasting, production, and storage areas Clean and perform routine care of roasting equipment and related tools Monitor green coffee and packaging inventory Communicate production, equipment, or quality concerns to management Follow workplace safety, food safety, sanitation, and coffee-handling procedures Assist with other coffee production duties as assigned Requirements Previous coffee roasting or coffee production experience is preferred Strong interest in specialty coffee and roasting Basic understanding of coffee roasting principles Ability to follow roasting recipes, procedures, and quality standards Strong attention to detail and consistency Good organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic Ability to work in a production environment and perform routine physical tasks Ability to follow safety procedures and operate equipment responsibly Preferred Skills Commercial coffee roasting experience Knowledge of roast development, temperature curves, and roast profiles Experience with coffee cupping and sensory evaluation Green coffee handling and inventory experience Familiarity with roasting software or production tracking systems Coffee packaging and labeling experience Strong quality-control and problem-solving skills Interest in specialty coffee sourcing and brewing Ability to learn new roasting techniques and production procedures Benefits Benefits may vary based on position, location, employment status, and eligibility.
