TAPROOM ASSOCIATE
Vitamin Sea Brewing is now hiring for its newest location in Plymouth. Since opening our first location in Weymouth in early 2019, we have earned a loyal following within the craft beer community. Our reputation is built on a diverse and high-quality beer selection, featuring a constantly changing tap list of new releases. At Vitamin Sea Brewing, our commitment to our customers goes beyond just beer; it encompasses providing an extraordinary experience and enhancing long-lasting connections within our community. We are seeking individuals with a positive attitude, eager to learn, and genuinely enjoy interacting with customers. We are hiring for Full / Part-time Taproom Associates to join our growing team at our newest location. The position requires knowledge of bar and draft operations, cleaning and hygiene, handling money, and responsible alcohol management. The ideal candidate for the Taproom Associate is a self-motivated and independent worker able to handle a high-volume and fast paced work environment. You must have great social skills and the ability to multitask.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Taproom Associate with Vitamin Sea Brewing, the candidate will work in the bar, event space, and retail sales areas of our tap room. Successful candidates will be a vital part of our brewery and will contribute to elevated levels of customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Experience & Service Serve Vitamin Sea Brewing's craft beers in the tasting room and sell canned/bottled offerings and merchandise in the retail area. Stay current on all promotions and merchandise sales, and actively assist with the execution of special events. Record drink orders accurately and immediately into the POS system; process payments and make change. Answer questions, make recommendations, and discuss the elements of craft beer, brewing processes, and flavor profiles with patrons. Assist customers with retrieving food items and ensure dietary preferences or restrictions are accommodated. Possess a comprehensive understanding of our food products, including their ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles Demonstrate exceptional attentiveness towards private event hosts and guests, coordinating setup (tables, chairs, AV equipment) as requested. We want to make private events a memorable experience. Bar Operations & Maintenance Clean the bar area, wash and sterilize glassware, clear tables, and clean taproom bathrooms. Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage. Assist in restocking and replenishing inventory, event supplies, and general supplies. Complete opening, closing, and side-work duties during downtime to contribute to overall team efficiency. Report all equipment problems, customer issues, or bar maintenance needs to management clearly and promptly. Professionalism & Teamwork Demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing demeanor with the public and coworkers. Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain up-to-date knowledge of daily specials, seasonal items and menu changes. Actively participate in scheduled training sessions and meetings. Maintain confidentiality and respect for trade secrets and proprietary information.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a valid, State of Massachusetts approved, server training certification (like TIPS) or willingness to obtain upon hire. Strong knowledge of tap room operations and service procedures Strong communication and customer service skills Possess basic math skills, possess the ability to handle money and operate a cash register and POS system Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds Punctual and regular, reliable attendance Honesty and Integrity Basic computer skills and knowledge Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment Positive, infectious attitude and sense of humor Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Encourages teamwork and mutual support among colleagues Personable, kind and customer service oriented Passion for the service industry, desire to be part of a team and work hard High level of self-awareness and long-term view of success Well-versed or possess a willingness to learn: beer history; brewing techniques; preparation techniques, styles, flavor profiles Be willing to be trained on the art and science of craft brewing and craft beers Must be at least 21 years old Must have reliable transportation to work Integrity, loyalty and a good sense of humor are all factors in who we hire.
