Job Description

Job Summary The Canning Line Operator / Cellar Person is part of a team responsible for all aspects of processes related to brewing, fermentation, conditioning, treatment, carbonation, packaging, and any other processes required to achieve a final product ready for consumption. The primary responsibility of this employee will be to operate and maintain our Wild Goose Canning line and associated equipment. This employee must be a hardworking, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry. The candidate should also be a sociable person who is comfortable occasionally representing the brewery in public and have a good sense of humor.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operating and maintaining a Legacy WGC-5 canning line, including a Ska can depalletizer, twist rinse/cleaner, and Quadrel in-line labeler Packaging duties including carbonating, kegging, and canning operations CIP (clean-in-place) and sanitizing of fermentation tanks, kegs, and packaging equipment Cellaring duties including fermentation monitoring (checking gravities and pH) Logging of all brewing related notes from brew day through fermentation, finishing, and packaging (Kegs & cans) Following SOPs (standard operating procedures) in each phase of brewing, fermentation, transferring and packaging Maintaining a clean and organized cellar and cold storage Cleaning and maintenance of cellar, packaging, and draft beer dispensing equipment Careful execution of treatments for specialty beers (dry hopping & fruit additions) Assistance with yeast handling and management Assistance with Quality Assurance activities Duties at the discretion of the Head Brewer
REQUIREMENTS
1+ year(s) experience operating canning equipment (Wild Goose or other) A strong passion for craft beer and a desire to advance personal growth in the brewing industry Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills Some understanding of all aspects of brewing including cellaring, yeast handling, CIP, and sanitization Flexibility in terms of hours and a willingness to work some later shifts and overtime when needed Prior packaging, canning / bottling, and kegging experience Ability to multi-task Ability to work as part of a team
EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS PREFERABLE
1+ year(s) experience within the brewing industry Experience running and maintaining Wild Goose Canning equipment Experience with QC testing of packaged beverages (dissolved oxygen, can seams, etc) Mechanical experience and aptitude Forklift operation
