Tasting Room Associate Michigan by the Bottle Tasting Room (MBTB) About Us Michigan by the Bottle isn't just a place to drink wine—it's where people come to connect, discover, and have a great time. We bring together wines from some of Michigan's best wineries under one roof, creating a fun, social, and welcoming experience for our guests. Whether it's a casual night out, a date, or a group celebration, our team is what makes it memorable.
Hours we are open:
Mon-Thurs 4-9pm
Friday:
2-10pm
Saturday:
12-10pm
Sunday:
12-8pm About the Role We're looking for Tasting Room Associates who love people, bring great energy, and know how to create a memorable experience. You don't need to be a wine expert—we'll teach you that. What we can't teach is personality, warmth, and the ability to connect with guests. If you've worked in restaurants, retail, events, or any customer-facing role—and you're great with people—you'll fit right in. What You'll Do Welcome guests and create a fun, inviting atmosphere from the moment they walk in Guide guests through wine flights, food offerings, and experiences Make thoughtful, confident recommendations based on what guests enjoy Help guests discover new wines (and maybe their new favorite bottle) Support sales of wine, food, merchandise, and wine club memberships in a natural, guest-first way Process transactions accurately using our POS system Prepare and serve light food items Keep the space clean, organized, and welcoming Assist with events, private tastings, and special experiences What We're Looking For Friendly, outgoing personality—you enjoy talking to people and making them feel welcome Strong customer service instincts and communication skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, social environment Reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player Willingness to learn (especially about wine—we've got you covered) Availability for evenings, weekends, and some holidays Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs Must be willing to work evenings and weekends Bonus (Not Required) Experience in hospitality, retail, bartending, or events Interest in wine, food, or learning something new Previous wine knowledge (not required) You'll Love This Job If You… Love being around people and bringing good energy to a room Enjoy hosting, entertaining, or creating great experiences Want a fun, social job where no two shifts feel the same Like the idea of learning about wine without needing to be an expert Why Join MBTB?
