Full-Time, Direct Hire Job Summary Engauge Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a direct-hire, 2nd-shift opportunity with an established automotive manufacturing operation in Auburn Hills, MI. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery and facility equipment to minimize downtime and keep manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. The facility manufactures automotive fasteners and components utilizing equipment and processes including header machines, roll-forming equipment, heat-treatment systems, and other automated production machinery . The ideal candidate has strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and is comfortable troubleshooting industrial production equipment. Electrical troubleshooting and PLC experience are a plus . Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial production machinery and related equipment. Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on header machinery, roll-forming equipment, heat-treatment systems, and other manufacturing equipment . Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems , including cylinders, valves, pumps, hoses, regulators, and related components. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures. Respond to production equipment breakdowns and perform repairs to minimize downtime. Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on production machinery. Inspect machinery for wear, damage, leaks, alignment issues, and other potential failures. Replace and repair motors, bearings, belts, chains, gears, sensors, switches, and other machine components. Assist with equipment adjustments, installations, changeovers, and machine improvements as needed. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using appropriate testing equipment. Troubleshoot automated equipment and controls; PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus . Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation. Work closely with production operators and supervisors to identify recurring equipment issues and improve machine reliability. Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacement parts. Follow established lockout/tagout procedures and all plant safety requirements. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance and work area. Qualifications Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or automotive production environment strongly preferred. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities. Hands-on experience maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems required. Experience repairing automated production or metal-forming machinery preferred. Experience with headers, roll-forming machinery, heat-treatment equipment, or similar industrial equipment is highly desirable. Working knowledge of motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, valves, cylinders, sensors, and other industrial components. Basic industrial electrical troubleshooting experience preferred. PLC troubleshooting or controls experience is a plus. Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment failures efficiently. Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on production needs. Strong attendance, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work 2nd shift and overtime as required. Compensation Starting pay ranges from $26.00
•34.00/hour , depending on maintenance experience and technical skill level. Employees working 2nd shift are also eligible for: $0.75/hour 2nd-shift premium $1.00/hour perfect-attendance bonus This provides the potential for an effective hourly rate of up to $35.75/hour when both incentives apply.
