Elk Rapids Pull Barn Summer Intern Short's Brewing Company | Paid + Seasonal Do you love great beer, great food, people, and the organized chaos that comes with a packed summer weekend? Then we want to talk to you. Short's Brewing Company is looking for Summer Manager Interns to join our team. This isn't the kind of internship where you spend the summer watching someone else do the job. You're getting in the mix. You'll learn what it takes to keep a high-volume establishment moving—from opening the doors in the morning to getting the last table closed out at night. What Will You Learn? By the end of the summer, we want you to have a real understanding of how a Short's establishment operates. You'll get hands-on experience with: FOH Management Run opening management duties. Build floor charts and assign cleaning tasks. Plan breaks and make staffing decisions. Learn when and how to make cuts. Learn opening and closing procedures. Work with Toast, cash drawers, beer lists, feature boards, and specials. Learn our beer and menu inside and out. Food & Expo Learn to run expo during busy service. Make sure food is accurate, complete, and ready to hit the floor. Lead food runners and bussers. Learn how to land and finish pizzas. Become the connection between the kitchen and the front of house. Beer Garden Help determine staffing needs. Build your beer and product knowledge. Learn what's coming on deck. Keep beer trailer signage current. Help keep the Garden running smoothly during busy summer days. Learn Every Side of the Pub You'll spend time shadowing: Pulltenders Hosts Bussers BOH team members Managers You'll learn how all of these positions work together to create a great guest experience. Events & Summer Chaos Summer at Short's means events, busy weekends, big crowds, food trucks, beer changes, special menus, and plenty of moving parts. You'll help us make it all happen. This Internship Is About More Than Learning We want you to do. As you gain experience, you'll take on more responsibility, help lead the team, solve problems, communicate with staff, and learn how to make decisions when things get busy. By the end of the summer, you should be able to look around a packed taproom and understand what needs to happen, who needs to do it, and how to keep the whole operation moving.
