Gary's Wine & Marketplace is a locally owned business and one of the leading wine retailers in the tri-state area, with established brick-and-mortar stores and an online presence. We specialize in offering a wide selection of fine wines, beers, spirits, artisanal cheeses, quality meats, and gourmet foods—all at competitive prices. We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and customer-focused Wine Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of wine sales experience, strong wine knowledge, an established local client base, and a passion for building relationships and delivering exceptional service. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who enjoys connecting with customers, growing sales, and continuously expanding their wine expertise. Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service and personalized wine recommendations. Drive wine sales, with a focus on featured and priority items. Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers. Promote store events, tastings, loyalty programs, and Wine of the Month memberships. Assist customers with wine pairings, party planning, gift selections, and special orders. Conduct in-store tastings and stay current on wine trends and industry developments. Maintain displays, signage, shelf tags, inventory, and product presentation. Represent Gary's in the community and help develop local relationships through events and activities. Requirements 3-5 years of wine sales experience required. Established local customer base and community connections preferred. Strong wine knowledge; wine certifications are a plus. Energetic, organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Excellent communication and follow-up skills. Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
