Ticket Checking Supervisor

Job Description

Summary:
Supervises Ticket Operations staff and scans lift tickets and passes of guests at designated ski lifts by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide training, daily supervision, delegation, and motivation of ticket checking staff. Ensure staff is safe, timely, and providing a high level of service and work ethic. Monitor daily performance and appearance of staff. Report any disciplinary issues to management and address immediately. Assist in morning set-up of scanning equipment, daily scheduling, giving lunch breaks, and ensuring proper daily rotation of staff. Examine ticket or pass to verify authenticity and scan barcode to verify validity. Assist Security department with the protection of the ski company's assets by scanning all products and alerting Security personnel when appropriate. Understand all pass/ticket products and error messages on scan guns. Coordinate with pass office to fix invalid products in a timely and professional manner. Prevent fraud by always confirming picture on pass is the correct person. Familiar with daily snow and grooming report. Greet each guest entering the maze area. Be able to provide assistance with directions and other on-mountain questions. Provide proper communication with both lift operations and ski patrol dispatch. Provide a high level of guest service and guest interaction. Support TSG's vision, mission, and goals. Adhere to all TSG policies and procedures listed in the employee handbook. Understand and apply the Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Support management in supervising approximately 20+ employees in the Ticket Checking Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Experience:
High School education or GED and at least 1-year experience with ski resort operations.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Able to use Ticket & Pass Scanning Instrument.
Other Qualifications:
Intermediate or better ski/boarder. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime. Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher. Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions. Advanced level knowledge of pass/ticket products and scan gun equipment.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Supervisor must also display the ability to ski or snowboard at a proficient level by passing a skier safety assessment.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The pay rate for this position is $23.00/hr.
