Job Description
Arcade & Pinball Sales & Service Manager Midwest Gaming - Wood Dale, Illinois Full-Time | $60,000 and greater annually Midwest Gaming is looking for an experienced, hands-on amusement industry professional to become a key member of our team. We sell pinball machines, arcade games, and other amusement equipment directly to the public from our Wood Dale showroom, as well as deliver, install, maintain, route, and service equipment throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with excellent customer service and sales skills—and who can take ownership of getting things done. This is not a traditional sales job, desk job, or bench-only technician position. The right person will be equally comfortable troubleshooting a machine, visiting a service location, meeting a customer in our showroom, helping someone select the right game, loading equipment for a delivery, organizing parts, and determining what needs to get done next. For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to become a key operational leader within Midwest Gaming. What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pinball machines, arcade games, and related amusement equipment Perform field service at customer and route locations Maintain route equipment and help maximize machine uptime Deliver, install, set up, move, and test equipment Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer, wiring, switch, power supply, monitor/display, and other equipment issues Perform preventative maintenance and identify problems before they result in downtime Meet customers in our Wood Dale showroom and provide a professional, knowledgeable buying experience Discuss pinball machines, arcade games, and other equipment with prospective buyers and help customers determine which products best fit their needs Demonstrate games and explain features, differences, operation, care, delivery, and ownership considerations Assist with showroom sales and follow up with prospective customers when appropriate Communicate professionally with residential customers, commercial customers, and route-location partners Manage service calls and prioritize work based on urgency and customer needs Help maintain parts, tools, equipment, and service inventory Keep showroom equipment clean, operational, presentable, and ready for customer demonstrations Assist with warehouse organization and equipment preparation Document repairs, parts needs, and outstanding issues Coordinate with ownership and other team members on sales, deliveries, installations, service, and daily priorities Help train and support other technicians and employees as the business grows Take ownership of problems and follow them through until they are resolved Who We're Looking For Our ideal candidate has professional experience in one or more of the following: Pinball machines Arcade games Amusement equipment Coin-operated equipment Video gaming terminals / gaming equipment Vending equipment Jukeboxes Bowling or family entertainment center equipment Electronics repair Field service Route-based service operations Customer-facing equipment sales or technical sales Direct pinball experience is a major plus, but it is not required if you have strong experience troubleshooting similar electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. Prior retail or sales experience is helpful, but we are not looking for a traditional salesperson. We are looking for someone who is personable, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and comfortable helping customers make significant purchases. What Matters Most We are looking for someone who: Is mechanically and electronically capable Is an excellent troubleshooter Can work independently without needing constant direction Takes pride in fixing things correctly Is organized and dependable Enjoys working directly with customers Can explain technical products clearly without overwhelming the customer Is professional and comfortable representing Midwest Gaming in our showroom Can build trust with someone considering a significant pinball or arcade purchase Can prioritize multiple service, sales, and customer needs Is comfortable working both in the showroom/shop and in the field Is comfortable safely moving and installing amusement equipment Has a valid driver's license and a good driving record Understands that customer service is just as important as technical ability Sees a problem and takes responsibility for getting it solved Experience supervising technicians, managing routes, coordinating deliveries, working with retail customers, or overseeing service operations is highly desirable. A college degree is not required . Relevant hands-on experience, customer skills, and demonstrated ability are much more important to us. Compensation $60,000 and greater annually , depending on relevant experience, technical ability, customer-facing experience, and the level of responsibility the candidate is prepared to assume.
