Job Summary The Host/Greeter is responsible for providing prompt, friendly, courteous, and efficient service to all restaurant guests while creating a memorable experience by greeting, escorting/directing guests, providing accurate information, and responding to inquiries, requests, and concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Greet arriving guests and determine reservation or place guests on waiting list, when applicable. Escort guests to their assigned table or direct them to designated waiting areas. Present guests with menus, communicate server name, relay any relevant information, and remove any additional place settings. Answer phone calls, take reservations, and respond to inquiries and requests. Engage with guests to ensure they are satisfied with food and overall service. Must be able to cross-train in other F&B related areas.
Competencies includes:
Displays a high level of professional integrity and ethical conduct. Maintain calmness and composure under high levels of pressure. Adapt to frequent change, fast paced environment, delays, or unexpected events. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask and uses time efficiently and effectively. Displays outstanding attendance.
Requirements:
Essential Skills, Experience, and Education include: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 1 year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Luxury hotel/fine dining experience preferred. High volume, fast-paced work environment experience preferred. Aloha experience is a plus. Open Table experience is a plus. Food Handlers card is required. Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Certification is a plus. Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification is a plus. Proficient in English- verbal and written. Must have flexible work availability- all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements include:
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
