Job Description
Join our amazing and welcoming team at Tides located in the beautiful downtown area of Danville. Tides is a casual fine dining restaurant, serving guests modern oceanic-inspired cuisine. Guests will have the opportunity to explore our menu containing a variety of fresh seafood-based dishes that are versatile, unique, and delicious. We believe in a culture where food and culinary creativity can bring people together for an enjoyable experience. Qualifications Customer service driven. Previous hostess experience utilizing Open Table and Toast operational systems in an upscale restaurant. 1 year minimum Ability to work well under pressure, resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as interpersonal and mediation skills. Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented. Positive, professional, and outgoing attitude. Job Responsibilities Greet incoming and departing guests with a smile in a welcoming manner. Answer the phone, enter reservation requests, provide general restaurant information (e.g. hours of operation), take to-go orders, and direct calls as applicable. Seat guests promptly in a polite and timely manner while displaying a high-quality level of service. Stay updated on current menu choices, ingredients, menu specials, being aware if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc. Use the POS (point of sale) system to transmit to-go orders to kitchen by recording guests' choices, identifying guest's special dietary needs and special requests. Protect establishment, co-workers, and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies. Completes proper opening and closing duties. Handles all cash, credit, and gift cards received during the shift and properly accounts for all monies at the end of each shift. Maintains proper etiquette with all staff members and guests. Exhibits teamwork at all times. Always maintains proper uniform and hygiene standards. Cross train as food runner.
