Weekend Host | Friday & Saturday Evenings | $18/hr + Tips Ponzu Sushi is hiring a friendly, dependable Host for our downtown Palm Springs location. This is a part-time weekend position working Friday and Saturday evenings, approximately nine hours per week. Starting pay is $18 per hour plus tips, with opportunities for additional responsibilities and growth within the restaurant. The host is the first and last point of contact for our guests. We are looking for someone who is warm, organized, professional, and comfortable managing a busy entrance while communicating clearly with guests and the entire service team. Responsibilities Welcome every guest promptly and professionally Manage reservations, walk-ins, and the guest waitlist Quote accurate wait times and keep waiting guests informed Seat guests according to the floor plan and server rotation Communicate clearly with servers, bussers, managers, and other FOH team members Answer the phone and assist with general guest questions Keep the host stand, entrance, menus, and waiting area clean and organized Monitor table status and help maintain a smooth flow of service Recognize special occasions, seating requests, and guest needs Thank guests as they leave and help resolve concerns by involving a manager when needed Complete opening, closing, and assigned side-work responsibilities What We're Looking For Friendly, confident, and approachable demeanor Strong communication and organizational skills Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service Good judgment when managing reservations, wait times, and seating Ability to work effectively with the entire restaurant team Clean, polished, and professional appearance Previous restaurant or customer-service experience preferred Availability every Friday and Saturday evening Pay and Schedule Starting at $18 per hour Tips in addition to hourly pay Approximately nine hours per week Friday and Saturday evenings Additional hours may become available based on performance and business needs Growth Opportunities Ponzu is part of a growing restaurant group, and we prefer to develop and promote dependable team members from within.
