Host / Hostess
Job Description
ABOUT TUG'S TUG'S
is a new high-energy bar & restaurant opening at 1200 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach. Cold beer, smash burgers, fried everything, frozen drinks, sports and a lot of fun — an unpretentious neighborhood spot in the heart of South Beach, built around Tug, our bulldog. No reservations, no attitude, high volume all day and late into the night.WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are building this brand from day one, and we hire for attitude: highly motivated people who want to grow and develop in a high-volume environment. We look for big personalities and natural charisma, strong salespeople who genuinely love recommending food and drinks, team players who hustle, and people excited to help grow a brand-new concept — the team that opens TUG'S will be the first in line for leadership roles as we grow.JOB SUMMARY
You are the first and last impression of TUG'S. Warmly greet every guest, manage the door and the wait with energy and honesty, and seat the room strategically to keep a no-reservations, high-volume floor turning smoothly all day and night on Ocean Drive.ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission ofTUG'S:
cold beer, great food, and a great time for every guest — served fast, with personality, so they come back with friends. Warmly and graciously greet all guests on arrival — with the energy of the brand, not a script.Manage the waitlist:
record names and party sizes, quote honest wait times, and keep waiting guests engaged (bar, drinks while they wait). Seat guests at tables suited to their needs, following rotation so servers receive balanced seatings. Sell the experience at the door: the vibe, the sports, the frozen drinks — on Ocean Drive the host is the best marketing we have. Provide menus, introduce the server by name, and set the table up to win. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and record special requests and large-party information. Maintain constant communication with servers, bussers, kitchen, and managers so the room turns without chaos. Inspect the entrance, dining areas, and restrooms for cleanliness and proper setup; flag issues immediately. Speak with guests during their visit, handle concerns with grace, and get a manager when needed. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Attend all scheduled team meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience as host, front door, or guest-facing role in a high-volume venue preferred. Magnetic, welcoming personality; calm under pressure with a line out the door. Organized and honest with quotes; able to manage a waitlist app and a rotation at the same time. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Able to stand for full shifts. English required; Spanish or other languages a big plus.Career Insights for Host / Hostess
