Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and personable Host/Hostess to create a warm and welcoming environment for our guests. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact, responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring smooth seating operations. Your enthusiasm and excellent communication skills will set the tone for an exceptional dining experience, fostering guest satisfaction and loyalty. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your hospitality talents in a dynamic restaurant setting. Duties Greet guests promptly with a friendly attitude, making them feel valued from the moment they arrive Manage restaurant reservation systems to schedule and confirm bookings efficiently Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or specials Coordinate with the serving staff to ensure timely seating and optimal table management using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, including taking reservations and providing wait times or directions Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests Support food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness of the host station and adherence to hygiene protocols Qualifications Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with hospitality operations Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally Experience with restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette and guest relations Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and seating arrangements accurately Organizational skills to manage multiple tables and reservations efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices is a plus Previous hotel or restaurant experience enhances your ability to deliver exceptional guest services Join us in creating memorable dining experiences by combining your passion for hospitality with your organizational expertise.
