Job Description

Hebrew SeniorLife, a Harvard Medical School-affiliated nonprofit senior care leader, seeks Host Staff to create a warm, organized, and welcoming dining experience for older adults. In this frontline role, you will greet and seat residents and guests, manage reservations and table flow, and coordinate with nursing and dietary teams to support special needs and preferences. You'll help maintain a safe, respectful environment that reflects our mission of dignity and inclusion while contributing to innovative, person-centered aging services within a collaborative, learning-focused team. Responsibilities Greet and seat residents and guests in the dining area with warmth and professionalism Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments to ensure efficient service flow Communicate special needs or requests to nursing, dietary, and service staff Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stand, menus, and entry areas Provide information about meal times, services, and community amenities Support safe mobility of older adults entering and exiting the dining room Assist with light administrative tasks such as logging attendance and documenting needs Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to enhance resident dining experiences Required Skills Customer service Dining room hosting Reservation management Communication Elder care awareness Basic computer skills Conflict de-escalation Time management Multitasking Safety and mobility awareness
