Job Description
The team behind The Siren Hotel in Detroit is actively seeking candidate for the position of Host. Ash designs, develops, owns, and operates a very special collection of properties that seek to create a more inspired world. Honing in on the spirit of a place, Ash sees what's there and what wants to be, and then creates space for new stories to unfold. Position Summary The Host Position is responsible for ensuring guests' enjoyment in Candy Bar. You should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to your job. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Welcomes each guest warmly and responds to guests requests and inquiries in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner Manages reservation book and monitors dining room activity to determine seating and dining flow Makes guests feel appreciated through your actions Works as a team with all personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service Ensures that specific guest needs and requests are communicated effectively and efficiently with both management and service staff Assists with side work, including but not limited to, cleaning, stocking, polishing, etc. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Excellent communication skills Organizational skills Multi-task oriented Knowledge of Company's food and beverage specifications Knowledge of workplace safety procedures We are seeking a candidate who: Will be passionate about providing exceptional service according to ASH brand standards A passion for world-class food, beverage, and service Pays extraordinary attention to detail, meets deadlines, follows up and through A meticulous attention to detail regarding cleanliness, and in providing an engaging, knowledgeable, and well-timed guest experience. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to sharp objects, slippery floors, smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold. The employee regularly comes into contact with water, sanitation solutions, and produce items. The employee is frequently required to wash hands. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
