Job Description
HOST Angelo's is a new Italian restaurant opening in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. We are creating a sophisticated but approachable dining experience centered on exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful attention to detail. We are seeking warm, polished, and highly organized Hosts to join our opening team. The host is the first and final point of contact for our guests and plays an essential role in shaping the entire experience. This position requires confidence, composure, excellent communication, and the ability to make every guest feel recognized and genuinely welcomed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome each guest promptly, warmly, and professionally
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments through Resy
- Answer telephone calls and respond to reservation inquiries
- Communicate accurate wait times and restaurant information
- Coordinate seating with servers and managers to maintain an effective flow
- Recognize returning guests and communicate important guest information
- Maintain an organized, polished, and welcoming entrance
- Assist guests with coats, seating needs, and special accommodations
- Communicate guest requests, celebrations, allergies, and concerns to the appropriate team members
- Thank every guest sincerely as they leave
- Support the service team wherever needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous restaurant, hotel, retail, or guest-service experience is preferred
- Warm and professional communication skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and gracious during busy periods
- Comfortable using reservation and point-of-sale technology
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to recognize priorities and make sound decisions
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
