The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and exceptional service. This role requires a passion for hospitality, organization, and a commitment to creating memorable dining experiences. Duties Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor. Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimize guest flow. Provide menus and inform guests of daily specials or promotions. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area. Answer phone calls promptly, handling inquiries, take-out orders, and reservations with professionalism. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations. Maintain server rotation accurately and notify server that table has been seated. Address guest concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, ensuring satisfaction and referring guest to manager on duty when necessary. Utilize POS systems (Toast POS) for managing take-out orders and processing payments as needed. Assist servers in clearing and sanitizing tables as needed. Complete additional tasks at manager's request. Skills Previous Host/Host experience in a restaurant or hotel setting is preferred, but not essential. Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and satisfaction. Pleasant demeanor with smiles and a welcome for everyone entering ScrubOaks. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette. Familiarity with ScrubOaks menu, food service operations, and restaurant environments. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with POS systems, particularly Toast POS, is a plus. A background in hospitality or guest services will be advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests and team members alike.
