We are looking for a Lead Party Host to be the face of our weekend parties and events. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about guiding children through joyful, engaging, and imaginative art experiences while simultaneously managing the energy, focus, and time of the event at large. Lead Party Host is a teaching position that leads instruction during parties and events, typically with the help of a Studio Assistant. As a Lead Party Host, you aren't just running a party—you are hosting an experience. Lead Party Hosts lead groups of children (ages 2+) through themed art projects, manage the "flow" of the event, and ensure that every guest (and parent) leaves with a smile. Lead Party hosts are responsible for managing day-of party and event logistics, delegating and collaborating with Studio Assistants before/during/after parties and events, delivering instruction by following written lesson plans, and set-up and clean-up of space before and after events. Lead Party Hosts must be charismatic, solution-oriented, comfortable managing large groups of children and adults, creative problem solvers, and efficient with time management. Required Availability Year-Round position (must be available January-December) Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-5:30pm. Should expect to be scheduled 75% of weekend days per month Weekly hours may range from 5 - 15 hours weekly, depending on bookings Start date: ASAP Starting pay rate: $17/hour + tips This position can be combined with another position, based on availability and qualifications Duties & Responsibilities include: Welcoming and embracing children and families of ALL diverse backgrounds Creating an exciting and special environment for the guest of honor to feel celebrated Leading high-energy birthday parties from start to finish, including greeting guests, facilitating the art project, and managing the transition to cake and celebrations. Guiding children (ages 2-15) through various creative projects—ranging from mixed media and collage to sculpture—ensuring that every child feels successful regardless of their skill level. Keeping a room full of excited children engaged, safe, and on-task while maintaining a fun and festive atmosphere. Coordinating guest movement and participation to ensure a synchronized event schedule, keeping the focus on the birthday highlights while providing clear cues to the adults for a smooth transition between activities. Handling the "behind-the-scenes" magic, including party setup (prepping materials, decorating) and rapid cleanup to ensure our studio is ready for the next group. Acting as the primary point of contact on-site for the host parents, ensuring their needs are met and the birthday child feels celebrated. Efficiently managing event timing and communicating timing expectations with host family Creating an inclusive environment for ALL participants during parties and events Delegating and leading prep, instruction, set-up, and clean-up tasks with Studio Assistants Communicating materials needs with Directors •other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary•Education/Experience Must be 18 years of age or older Must have At least 2+ years experience instructing groups of 15+ children Must be comfortable and energized when speaking in front of and leading a group of children Must be comfortable communicating with and directing parents and families of all backgrounds Preferred Qualifications Outgoing, warm, and engaging personality. You aren't afraid to be silly, cheer loudly, or take charge of a room. Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is highly preferred. A solution-oriented mindset who is quick to solve problems on the spot when necessary A genuine love for working with children and a high level of enthusiasm. You can think on your feet and pivot quickly if a project finishes early, a guest needs extra support, or the energy level shifts Punctuality and weekend availability are non-negotiable, since our parties happen on a strict schedule. While you don't need to be a professional artist, a love for the "process" of making and a comfort level with art materials and making art accessible to young children is essential. A strong sense of ownership of our studio space and the motivation to keep it in tip-top shape to help us put our best foot forward when hosting special events for our guests Language Abilities Ability to verbally communicate effectively with participants, colleagues, and community members face-to-face. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Strong understanding of written lesson plans and ability to follow written instructions independently Ability to follow written directions with the distraction of an ongoing event Artistic Abilities Comfortable in various artistic techniques and mediums, including, but not limited to… Drawing Watercolor/tempera painting Collage Air dry clay sculpting Discernment of art materials and appropriate use Ability to teach artistic behaviors including, but not limited to… Proper use of art tools (paintbrushes, glue bottles, clay tools, etc.) Proper use and discernment of art materials and what to use when Safety precautions for hazardous tools and materials (scissors, hot glue guns, etc.) Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
