Event Host City of Centerville, Ohio - 3.9 Centerville, OH Job Details Part-time $14.81 - $19.26 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Employee relationship building Event customer service Full Job Description The City of Centerville is accepting applications for a part-time Events Host to monitor and oversee functions held at Benham's Grove, located in the heart of historic Centerville. The Benham's Grove complex includes three separate buildings and grounds that can be rented out separately, or in various combinations to provide guests with the ideal setting for a wide variety of functions. The Events Host provides on-site support to guests during these events. Events Host works up to 10-20 hours a week.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure the facility is ready for each event. Serve as the primary liaison between Benham's Grove and its clients during events Monitor/manage events and facilitates any needs that may arise. Review the overall condition of the facility and ensure event set-up is adequately done, following the guidelines in the Events Host checklist. Interact with clients and guests of Benham's Grove. Oversee multiple events at the same time. Help communicate and enforce contractual expectations and obligations. Complete and review event reports and provide office staff support including answering phones, responding to requests for information, scheduling appointments, and meeting with clients. Assist with giving tours of the facility, collecting payments, booking events, and performing other related duties. Assist with Audio/Visual equipment. Assists with event set-up, take-down, and clean-up if needed. Weekends and evening hours are required, as necessary on a year-round basis (work schedules are maintained in advance for staffing/planning purposes).Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; any combination of training and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities. Knowledge of office procedures and public relations/customer service. Valid Ohio driver's license.Ability to:
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with city officials, co-workers, and the public. Understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Work independentlywith minor supervision. Patience and ability to solve problems. Ability to walk for extended periods of time.
