Principal Responsibilities:

Greeting guests as they enter, monitoring the volume of food to ensure guest satisfaction, placing order for more food items as needed, maintaining a clean and orderly dining space for guests, maintaining a courteous and efficient operation to ensure guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

Meets and greets guests as they arrive, explains choice of seating, then explains and/or escorts guests through buffet area to ensure all guests are aware of the food and beverage offerings available. Reads guest arrivals reports and maintains log of how many guests have access each day. Based on this information, the Buffet Attendant adjusts orders for the following day. Maintains proper set-up and follows proper grooming standards on a daily basis. Places food/beverage request orders for the following day, based on occupancy numbers. Performs opening and closing duties. Ensures that all items are properly stored in locked storage facilities at the end of each shift. Ensures that the buffet area is secured at the end of each shift. In addition to these essential functions, the Buffet Attendants must be able to constantly walk and stand. Buffet Attendants are also required to adhere to safety and security procedures that are set forth by the company.

Specific Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials Ability to speak the English language sufficient to conduct small employee meetings to impart new or important information Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction

Qualifications:

Education High School graduate or equivalent required. Experience Concierge or Buffet Attendant experience preferred. Licenses or Certificates Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates, Alcohol Service Permit (if state-required), CPR Certification, and/or First Aid Training preferred. Grooming All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available). Other Additional language ability preferred. Must be at least 17 years of age or older.
