POSITION SUMMARY

Reflecting the spirit, grace and uncompromising hospitality of the Founders, the Winey Host welcomes visitors into our Courtyard Tasting Room and shares information about our vineyards, our wine, and the history of Opus One. Calm and courteous, the Host offers professional customer service with a gracious demeanor going above and beyond to create special and lasting relationships with our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Greets guests upon arrival in the Rotunda when possible and escorts them to the tasting room. Offers a warm welcome to all guests and spends the first few minutes getting to know the guests. Actively listens to guests to determine what they are interested in and want to know more about prior to telling our story in an engaging and natural way. Serves wines to guests in our Courtyard Tasting Room, while explaining what makes our wine unique and special, and accurately describing vintages of Opus One. Checks on guests as they taste through their wines and provides additional information regarding our wines, winemaking and history and answers any additional questions the guest may have. Facilitates retail bottle sales and shipping orders using the Commerce7 POS System. Supports team members with anything they may need to ensure the guest experience flows seamlessly at all tables. Assists setting up and clearing all tables throughout the course of the day. Stocks the Courtyard Tasting Room with all collateral, bags, gift boxes and breadsticks at the beginning and end of each business day. Takes inventory of wine and provides counts to the Supervisor at the beginning and end of each business day. Works with another guest relations team member counting the cash drawers to ensure the accuracy of the drawers at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensures that various areas visited by the public are available, appointed, and meticulously maintained. Closes down and prepares the tasting room for the next business day. Maintains, updates, and expands knowledge of viticulture and enology by participating in educational trainings offered by Opus One and by outside sources. Speaks knowledgeably about all Opus One representatives, history, and vintages offered for sale at the winery to better assist guests in the selection of wine or wine-related items.

QUALIFICATIONS

Two to Four (2-4) years' experience working at a winery or wine-related business. Comprehensive wine knowledge. Strong retail sales/public relations skills and experience (luxury environment preferred). Understanding, desire, and ability to represent Opus One in order to promote our wine and image. Must be at least 21 years of age

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Fluency in other languages. Restaurant service or management experience preferred, specifically in fine dining. Knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, wine marketing, and/or wine tasting preferred. BA/BS degree.

COMPENSATION
:
Base Compensation Range:

$20.00 - $28.00 USD hourly

In addition to base compensation, all roles are eligible for individual performance bonus and company bonus that range from role to role. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
