Job Description
Hostess (Full-Time / Part-Time) Join Our Team at Yamato Japanese Restaurant! We are currently looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience while ensuring smooth front-of-house operations. Responsibilities Greet guests with a warm and friendly attitude. Seat guests efficiently and manage the waiting list during busy hours. Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist with customer inquiries. Take and process takeout orders accurately over the phone and in person. Pack takeout orders carefully and verify order accuracy before pickup. Provide excellent customer service to both dine-in and takeout guests. Assist with general front-of-house duties to ensure smooth daily operations. Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff regarding guest needs and takeout orders. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and lobby area. Qualifications Friendly, positive, and professional attitude. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable answering phones and using a POS system (training provided if needed). Reliable, punctual, and a team player. Restaurant experience is a plus but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate.
