Job Description

SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel® is looking for a friendly, dependable Guest Services Agent to join our Front Desk team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences while staying organized in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The position may begin part-time, with opportunities to grow into full-time based on performance and business demand. Position Overview Guest Services Agents are the first and last point of contact for our guests. You'll manage arrivals and departures, assist with reservations, answer questions, and help ensure every stay feels welcoming and seamless. Key Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and manage check-ins and check-outs through the property management system Assign rooms, distribute keys, confirm payment details, and maintain accurate guest profiles Process payments while following established cash and credit card procedures Share helpful information about hotel amenities and nearby attractions Respond to guest requests or concerns with professionalism and care, escalating when appropriate Coordinate room status with housekeeping and maintenance teams Answer incoming calls using proper phone etiquette and relay messages as needed Enter reservations accurately and document special requests Keep the front desk workspace clean, organized, and guest-ready Follow all safety, security, and emergency guidelines Reconcile cash drawers and complete shift reports Use basic sales techniques to promote room upgrades and hotel services Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous hospitality, front desk, or customer service experience preferred Comfortable using computers and office equipment (PMS, phones, printers, credit card terminals) Strong communication skills with a warm, guest-focused attitude Ability to stay calm and solution-oriented during busy periods Dependable, punctual, and able to work well independently or on a team Physical Expectations Standing for extended periods with occasional walking throughout the shift Lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally Regular use of the keyboard and mouse Clear speaking, hearing, and visual acuity required Flexibility for longer shifts when business needs require Workplace Skills Maintain reliable attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts Follow written and verbal instructions accurately Adapt quickly and apply feedback constructively Communicate clearly with coworkers and guests Make sound decisions in fast-moving situations Recognize and resolve issues proactively Perform basic math for payment processing and reporting
