Responsibilities include welcoming and registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, providing property tours, and offering concierge-style recommendations for local attractions, dining, shopping, entertainment, and Santa Cruz's best beaches. Ensuring a smooth, pleasant stay and seamless checkout experience is key. This position requires reliability, flexibility, and availability for day and evening shifts, weekdays and weekends, and occasional holidays. While we aim to maintain a consistent schedule, hospitality requires adaptability, including occasional on-call or additional coverage when needed. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of room availability, reservations, and assignments Process same-day and future reservations and understand cancellation procedures Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and process check-outs and transactions Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping, including early check-ins, late check-outs, departures, and special requests Communicate guest room maintenance needs to property maintenance staff Promote rooms and hotel services using courteous, guest-focused sales techniques Safeguard guest privacy and confidentiality at all times Maintain a professional appearance and positive, welcoming demeanor Report unusual situations or guest concerns to management when leadership is unavailable on site Assist with laundry duties as required Perform breakfast room setup, cleanup, and restocking as required Follow all company policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications & Requirements Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Familiarity with the local area, including restaurants, activities, and points of interest (or willingness to learn) Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong organizational and time-management skills Professional written and verbal communication skills in English Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Standing and walking for extended periods Occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting Ability to move throughout the property as needed
